Our work experience scheme works by offering one week placements from May – July to students in year 10 up to year 13. Placements are designed to give an insight into the day-to-day life of a lyric theatre, exploring the range of work that goes on behind the scenes.
We offer the opportunity for students to spend time within various departments that contribute to the running of the Centre. Departments include, Artistic Programming, Development, Finance, Marketing and Media Relations, People & Learning (HR), Stage Door, Technical - supervised at all times, Visitor Services (Front of House).
How to apply
We regret to inform you that our Work Experience Scheme has closed for this year.
We have introduced a process which includes an application stage and for those shortlisted an informal interview. This will not only ensure that we are following a fair and consistent process but will also give you the opportunity to gain additional experience in applying for jobs and interview skills.
Please complete the work placement application form and return via email to
firstname.lastname@example.org or via post to;
People & Learning
Wales Millennium Centre
Once applications have submitted they will be reviewed and we will be in touch to let you know in April if you have been shortlisted. If successful you will be invited to attend and informal interview at the Centre before final students are selected. Full feedback will be available for all candidates.
Please note that due to the high demand for places and with a limited number of spaces we cannot guarantee you work placement and would advise that students have a fall back option in-case we are unable to offer a placement.
