Carol Bell

Carol BellCarol Bell is from Felindre, near Swansea, but now divides her time between London and Cardiff. She read Natural Sciences before joining the oil and gas industry and has been associated with that industry ever since (either in the industry itself or as an advisor to it in investment banking). As a native Welsh speaker, she is a frequent broadcaster on this energy and other business matters.

Carol left the City at the end of 1999 and read for a PhD in the archaeology of ancient trade for four years, during which time she kept up her association with the investment and oil and gas world by serving as a member of various boards and investment committees. Having completed her PhD and published a book, she embarked on a plural career that combines serving on the boards of both international energy companies and charities in the education and cultural sphere. In Wales, she is a member of S4C's governing Authority, a trustee of the National Museum of Wales, a member of Cardiff University's Council, a member of the Welsh Government's Sector Panel on Energy and Environment and a member of the board of Finance Wales. She is also an honorary fellow of Swansea University and the University of Wales Trinity St David.
