The Incubator Project was Wales Millennium Centre's creative development program that existed to support artists and companies to make new work in association with the Centre whilst receiving help and support to evaluate and develop their practice.
Starting in 2006, The Incubator Project was used as a test bed for creation, a hub for development and an opportunity to grow networks. In collaboration with emerging and mid-career companies and individuals, The Incubator Project was a platform for those who were looking for impetus to change direction or try new ideas.
Over 9 years The Incubator Project worked with 41 companies and artists including: Dafydd James, Bethan Marlow, Canoe Theatre, Likely Stories, George Orange, Buddug James Jones, Citrus Arts, Theatr na n'Óg, Dirty Protest and Crashmat Collective.
The Incubator Project is currently on hold whilst we concentrate on a new artistic director.
Whilst it's on hold we are still keen to continue to develop meaningful and supportive relationships with artists and companies across Wales.
At present, as the Centre makes the transition from presenting to producing more work, our access to rehearsal spaces is limited. We do however have function rooms that are available for free on ad hoc days of the week but particularly at weekends and evenings. However, for us this is about more than just rehearsal spaces- we would like to hear from you, see your work and talk about the way in which we can support your projects, needs and ideas. So please, get in touch.
