Swan Lake On Ice Schools' Reviewer Competition
Having run successful schools competitions with a visual arts focus for Mary Poppins and Hairspray, we thought we’d try something a little different. We would like to invite you to take part in our Schools’ Reviewer nation-wide competition.
Inspired by our autumn show The Imperial Ice Stars: Swan Lake on Ice - the competition is for pupils to write a short review of a show they’ve seen or of a recent experience. It could be a show at the Centre, in your local theatre or in the West End; it could be a review of a trip to Alton Towers or of where they have stayed in over the holidays.
Reviews must be no more than 250 words for Primary Schools or no more than 500 words for Secondary Schools and can be emailed or posted to the Learning & Participation team at education@wmc.org.uk or to our freepost address [Wales Millennium Centre, Freepost SWC5154, Cardiff, CF10 5GZ]. Entries must be received by Thursday 7 October.
The school name, school contact, school phone number, reviewer’s name and age must be included on each entry. Reviews may be written in Welsh or English.
The Prize
There will be an individual winner from each category - Primary & Secondary.
Each winner will receive a family ticket to press night of Swan Lake on Ice on Tuesday 26 October where the families will be invited to attend the pre show and interval drinks receptions. The winners will then be asked to write a review of the show, Swan Lake on Ice just like the other reviewers from the press there on the night. Please note this date is during half term and tickets cannot be transferred.
The winning entries will be on the Centre’s website for the public to read and should the winners be interested in learning more about working in the press team, they will be offered the chance to meet with the Centre’s press team.
