Make It Yours encompasses the range of free and participatory activity on offer at Wales Millennium Centre.
We call it Make It Yours as we see all these events as a means for you, our visitors and artists to make the Centre their own in whatever way you choose to. We encourage everyone to get involved and this brochure packages events up for you to make choices about what you’ll experience during your time at the Centre.
Make It Yours uses strands to signpost different kinds of experiences for people to enjoy, titled with names inspired by Welsh language and traditions.
Hanfod - Your Heritage
Cultural identity is a powerful thing. Hanfod gathers up events that represent heritage. These events evoke a sense of place, history and belonging, in a variety of different ways.
Curiad - Emerging Artists
We have a stage, and one of its most important uses is providing a platform for new and emerging talent to get up there and raise its profile.
AnturCelf - ArtsExplorer
More than the other strands this tends to involve a more participatory approach. We like to offer a chance to ‘get stuck in’ to what we have available.
Dan y Pared - Tuning into Welsh music
The Welsh music scene is a busy one, and we are committed to making sure that our visitors are exposed to as much of it as possible. Our seasons feature performances by bands epitomising the best on our current music scene.
As well as the Donald Gordon Theatre and Weston Studio programme there is a selection of year-round opportunities for schools and communities - young and old, all aimed at enabling our visitors to get closer to arts. To find out what we got up to last year, and how you might get involved click here to read our very first review of our free and participatory activity that took place during the financial year 2010-2011.
