Groups: Frequently Asked Questions

How large must my group be to receive group discounts?
At least 10 people, if a discount is applicable for the performance - visit the group offers section on our website for more details

Can we all sit together?
Just tell us at the time of booking how you require your seats to be allocated e.g. all even seats, one long row and where possible we will try and accommodate this. When you receive your invoice it will also detail the seating area, row and seat numbers. You can download a map from our website, just Register as a Group Organiser if you haven't already done so - and then log in and you will be able to access the Group Organisers' Area.

When do I need to pay?
All performances have their individual payment dates and the Groups Advisor will let you know this when reserving your tickets. It is also on your invoice so you can keep it for your records. We try and negotiate a payment date with producers which is as near to the performance as possible in order to give you as much time as we can for you to secure payment from your group's members.

How can I pay?
We offer lots of easy ways to pay:
You can pay by credit card by calling the Centre's Ticket Office on 029 2063 6464 (option 4).
We can accept one cheque* per booking, which is to be made payable to Wales Millennium Centre and returned to: Group Sales Department, Wales Millennium Centre, Bute Place, Cardiff, CF10 5AL. Please write the order number on back of the cheque. You will find this on your invoice.
You can pay in cash at the ticket desk.
We also accept BACS Payments which may be made to:
Lloyds TSB Acct No: 00254501 Sort code: 30-91-63 (please quote the Order Number)

*Please note: once the cheque is received, tickets will be sent within 21 days of the payment clearing.

I've lost my invoice, what do I do?
Get in touch with us by email: group.sales@wmc.org.uk or call us on 029 2063 6464 option 4 stating the full name, address, postcode  and reservation or invoice number (if you have these to hand ) that the reservation  is under, so we can locate your order.

Can I reserve tickets through the website?
Not at the moment, but it is something that we are looking into for the future. You can however purchase group tickets, the discounts (if applicable) will be added when you place the tickets in your basket.

What do I do if someone in the group can't make the production after I've made a reservation?
We completely understand that organising a group can take time; therefore we give you a reservation period, so you can collect the money and only pay for the tickets needed. Once you have paid for the tickets, they then become non-refundable but if you let us know we can try to resell them for you. Please visit - Terms and Conditions for full details.

What are the Group Organiser Benefits?
If you can persuade 19 or more people to join you on your theatre trip, you will qualify for a free ticket* to see the show yourself, plus some vouchers for a complimentary cup of tea or coffee and an interval ice-cream as a well-earned reward for all your hard work.

  • To enjoy your tea/coffee go to Hufen located on the ground floor next to the Portmeirion shop.
  • To claim your complimentary interval ice cream, go to any of the bars on level 2, 4 and 5 or located in the stalls of the auditorium and hand the voucher to any ice cream usher.  Plan of the Centre

Why register as a Group Organiser?
We know it can be a challenge sometimes to organise a group outing, that's why we have added a group organiser resource section to our website, to give you all the tools to help make the day go more smoothly. By using this area of the website we can keep you up to date with all the latest benefits and reductions available so make sure you check it regularly.  Registering is simple and quick; follow the instructions on the Groups Get More page.

How can I receive the latest Groups newsletter or E-flyers?
You can register as a group organiser on the website. Click here Groups Get More. Alternatively call us on 029 2063 6464 option 4 and we can add you to the mailing list.

What else can we do to make the day/evening more fun?
We're able to pre-book various catering options for you and your group, just ask one of the Group Advisors or visit the Group Hospitality section on our website. We also have Guided Tours of the building where you can find out what lies behind the inscription. Book alongside your performance tickets and you save £2 per person.  A popular choice is to pre-order Ice creams and interval drinks, so you can sit back and relax knowing everything is in hand. You can download a pre-order form from the Group Organisers' Area of the website. If you've a few minutes to spare, take a look at some of the attractions on our doorstep Your Visit. What are the Coach Driver benefits?
We offer a number of benefits to coach drivers who can access the following offers while at the Centre:

  • Free cup of tea or coffee in ffresh or Hufen
  • Free ticket to see the show (subject to availability on the day)
  • Access to our Green Room (must be pre-booked)
