Pay on Foot Terms and Conditions of entry/parking

These are the terms on which you agree to use this car park. It is important that you read them and understand them. They explain your rights and obligations. They also contain details of matters for which we do not accept responsibility. Important: please find a parking space before you pay for your parking ticket

When reading these Conditions the following words or phrases have the following meanings:-

  • "Car Park" means the car park at which these Conditions are displayed. It means approaches to, and exit roads from the Car Park.
  • "Tariff Board" means any board or notice at the Car Park displaying the charges to be paid for parking.
  • "these Conditions" means the terms and conditions set out below.
  • "Vehicle" means any vehicle which enters the Car Park and includes any mechanical device on wheels or tracks, its equipment and accessories.
  • "We, us, our" means APCOA Parking (UK) Limited ("APCOA")
  • "Your, you" means any person who enters our car park and parks a Vehicle.


  • 2.1 APCOA may in its absolute discretion alter the Tariff at any time.
  • 2.2 In the event of any pay and display machine failure, APCOA its servants or agents reserve the right to collect the parking fees from vehicle owners
    on arrival or departure.


  • 3.1 These Conditions apply to your use of a Car Park.
  • 3.2 We intend relying on these Conditions. If there is anything you do not understand or do not agree with please discuss this with us before you enter the Car Park or leave your Vehicle with us.
  • 3.3 Our employees or authorised agents are not permitted to make any representations unless these are confirmed in writing. If we agree changes please ask us to confirm them in writing. We can then avoid problems over what has been agreed between us.
  • 3.4 Nothing in these Conditions affects your statutory rights.


  • 4.1 The ticket issued is valid only for the Vehicle in respect of which it is issued. Your ticket does not entitle you to use any particular space in the Car Park or to priority over other customers.
  • 4.2 All tickets are our property.
  • 4.3 If you are required to display your ticket in your Vehicle this will be clearly stated on your ticket and also on signs within the Car Park. Please ensure your ticket is displayed prominently. If the printed information on ticket is obscured or if the ticket cannot be seen clearly from outside the Vehicle we will assume you do not hold a valid ticket to park in the Car Park.
  • 4.4 Unless you are required to display your ticket in your Vehicle you must keep your ticket with you when you leave your Vehicle. If you lose your ticket you will be charged at the rate specified on the Tariff Board.
  • 4.5 If you are permitted to pay by credit/debit charge card the cards which we will accept will be exhibited on this notice board or on the Pay Machine. We will debit against your card the tariff charge appropriate for your stay at the Car Park (or at the rate specified on the Tariff Board if you lose your ticket) together with any administration charge levied against us by the credit/debit/charge card company.

have responsibility for management of this Car Park. APCOA also have responsibility for enforcement of these Conditions.


  • Neither we or its servants or agents accept liability in respect of any damage to, loss or theft of or from your vehicle while in the Car Park.


  • Nothing in these Conditions shall be deemed to exclude or limit our liability or the liability of our servants and agents for death or personal injury caused
    by our negligence.


  • If your Vehicle is damaged whilst on our property or is stolen or any of your possessions are stolen from it whilst it is on our property you must:-
    • Immediately inform a member of staff if one is available;
    • notify APOCA whose contact details are set out in condition 5; and
    • notify your insurers promptly.


If you park your Vehicle in breach of these Conditions we will:-

  • Apply a Parking Enforcement Notice
  • A Parking Enforcement Notice (PEN) may be attached to your vehicle or handed to you. The PEN will specify:-
    • the sum you are required to pay;
    • the time limit within which payment must be made; and
    • the address to which payment must be sent.
  • The PEN will also explain that unless payment is made in accordance with its terms court action may be commenced to recover the sums due from you under the PEN together with costs, interest and any other sums legally recoverable.
  • If you park in breach of these conditions within 12 months of the date of issue of a PEN we will:-
    • Apply a wheel clamp to your Vehicle
    • APCOA, its servants and agents adhere to the British Parking Association's Code of Practice for the clamping of vehicles.
    • Where your Vehicle is clamped you should proceed as set out in Condition 10. On payment of the sum the clamp will be removed as soon as reasonably practicable.
  • If you park in breach of these conditions within 12 months of your vehicle being clamped we will:-
    • Remove your Vehicle
    • Where your Vehicle has been removed you should proceed as set out in condition 10.


    • If your Vehicle has been clamped or removed you should ring the number below to arrange its release:-

      • Provided you pay the release fee we will arrange for the release of the Vehicle as soon as reasonably possible but we will not be liable to you for any delay
        in releasing your Vehicle or for any losses you suffer by reason of any such delay.


  • Should you damage another vehicle or any property within you must report the matter immediately to APCOA at the address set out in condition 5 above.
  • You should give APCOA the registration number of both vehicles, your full name and address and the name and address of your insurance company together with your policy number. You will be required to make good to our reasonable satisfaction any damage caused or to us pay to us on demand the cost incurred by in making good such damage.


  • 11.1 You must drive carefully and strictly observe any speed limits.
  • 11.2 Children must not play in the Car Park or other parking areas and must not be left unaccompanied at any time.
  • 11.3 You must beware of Vehicles in motion.
  • 11.4 You must comply with all directions and signs from time to time posted in the Car Park and all instructions or requests given or made from time to time by employees, servants or agents (including APCOA) for regulating traffic and controlling the positioning of vehicles in the Car Park.
  • 11.5 You must ensure that animals are kept secured on a lead when outside a Vehicle.
  • 11.6 You should ensure:-
  • 11.6.1 Your Vehicle is securely locked.
  • 11.6.2 all the windows of your Vehicle are securely locked;
  • 11.6.3 your brakes are applied as appropriate for the parking mode;
  • 11.6.4 if your Vehicle is fitted with a steering lock or similar device that it is engaged;
  • 11.6.5 no person or animal is left in your Vehicle; and
  • 11.6.6 your possessions are placed in your locked boot and are not visible from the exterior of this Vehicle.


  • 12.1 We operate a complaint handling procedure details of which is available through APCOA. To enable complaints to be dealt with efficiently it is important that complaints are made as soon as reasonably possible. As a result the complaints procedure includes strict time limits which must be observed. You understand that if you do not adhere to any time limited we may not be able to do anything about your compliant.
  • 12.2 Should you wish to appeal against any cost incurred in relation to the removal, storage or disposal of your Vehicle we operate an appeal procedure details of which are available through APCOA. To enable appeals to be dealt with efficiently it is important that appeals are made as soon as reasonably possible. As a result the appeals procedure includes strict time limits which must be observed. You understand that if you do not adhere to any time limited we may not be able to do anything about your appeal.


  • 13.1 You should not:-
  • 13.1.1 park in a no parking area;
  • 13.1.2 park on a double yellow line;
  • 13.1.3 park other than in a designated parking bay;
  • 13.1.4 park in a time restricted waiting area and being in excess of the allowed time;
  • 13.1.5 park in a disabled bay without displaying the required current valid badge;
  • 13.1.6 park across two parking bays; or
  • 13.1.7 park in an area reserved for emergency vehicles. These restrictions also apply to disabled badge holders.
  • 13.2 No Vehicle shall be towed into the Car Park or enter otherwise than under its own mechanical power and no work or repairs or maintenance to or washing of or cleaning of Vehicles shall be done in the Car Park.
  • 13.3 No activity in connection with the selling, hiring or other disposal of the Vehicle shall be carried out in the Car Park.
  • 13.4 No Vehicle shall obstruct any access or circulation area within the Car Park.
  • 13.5 No Vehicle shall wait other than within the area designed for the purpose.
  • 13.6 No person shall do anything in the use of the Car Park that may be a nuisance or inconvenience to us or any other user of the Car Park.
  • 13.7 No Vehicle shall cause any unnecessary noise, vibration or exhaust fumes within the Car Park.
  • 13.9 No person shall do any act or thing which may render invalid or void any policy of insurance effected in respect of the Car Park.
  • 13.10 No person shall deposit any rubbish, litter or refuse of any kind in the Car Park other than in proper receptacles provided for the purpose.
  • 13.11 No person shall pour or transfer petrol or other fuels into or out of the fuel tank of any Vehicle.


You are required to observe all reasonable restrictions as shall from time to time be made by us or our servants or agents in respect of the height, length
or width of vehicles to be allowed access to the car park.
