Rachel Chinouriri

Rachel Chinouriri

Championed by Michaela Coel, Annie Mac and Sian Eleri, RACHEL CHINOURIRI is a young singer-songwriter from Croydon with a totally unique style.

As the youngest child in a large family with music at its heart, Rachel attributes a lot of her musical influence to her traditional Zimbabwean upbringing. At a young age, Rachel found solace in writing and recording music, and her limited exposure to pop music meant she developed a truly unique self-taught style.

She's been featured on Annie Mac’s Future Sounds and as Sian Eleri’s Chillest Record of The Week on Radio 1, while also proving her prowess as an incredible live performer, supporting Celeste, Sam Fender and Lianne La Havas.

With two nominations for this year’s The Ivors – Best Contemporary Song for Give Me A Reason and Rising Star Award with Apple Music – Rachel Chinouriri is definitely a name that we’ll be hearing lots more of.

“Chinouriri plays with delicate vocal acrobatics akin to the likes of FKA twigs and SZA as she explores jealousy and insecurities over lo-fi ambient electronic soundscapes”
