NEXT UP aims to put a spotlight on emerging MOBO artists from Wales and has showcased artists at a number of festivals across the country.
This year at Llais sees Grime veteran D DOUBLE E headline the Weston Studio with support from some of the finest emerging artists from across the whole of Wales.
D DOUBLE E
Rapper and Grime artist D Double E is a major player in the UK Grime scene having been one of the first artists to nurture the genre off the back of drum 'n' bass, jungle and UK Garage. Known as the emcee's MC, D Double E has collaborated with some of UK Grime's hottest talent, including Skepta, JME and Wiley. His latest release, Bluku! Bluku! 2, the follow up EP to his 2011 debut release Bluku! Bluku! is out now and we cannot wait to welcome him to Cardiff.
SAGE TODZ
SAGE TODZ is a Welsh Drill artist from Penygroes, Gwynedd, who became an internet sensation in March this year when he released a snippet of himself performing Welsh Language Drill with the video reaching over 200k views on Twitter and TikTok. Since then he has released the full video for the track ‘Rownd & Rownd’ and teamed up with FA Wales to release a version of ‘Yma o Hyd’ in support of the Wales National Football team entitled ‘O HYD’.
MARINO
Creating a unique sound, Swansea rapper MARINO is comfortable over Drill or more melodic sounds with his release Cardiff to Vetch Fields on GRM Daily showcasing this. He is featured on Sage Todz's track 'O HYD'.
