Autumn Curious Season

Performances for the Curious returns this autumn from October 14 - December 22 with over 30 incredible productions for you to choose from.

And with circus, comedy, burlesque, drag, dance and innovative scratch performances on the cards, you'll be spoilt for choice. Here's our pick of the bunch...

Cracking comedy

'World famous transgender performer', Krishna Istha.
Krishna Istha

From Down Under comes 'world famous transgender performer', Krishna Istha with Beast, throwing a refreshingly daft nonsense-bomb at the binary everything.

Comedian Leroy Brito returns to Ffresh with his comedy show, Stereotype.

Regulars to Supper Clwb will already be familiar with local comedian, Leroy Brito but if you haven't caught one of his stand up shows yet, then check out Stereotype; where Leroy explores and shares his own unique experiences and misconceptions.

Moving from Butetown, to London, meet the loveable, Lord Hickes. Born with a silver spoon in his mouth and educated on the mean streets of Soho, this noble comic will take you on an unforgettable musical romp through queer history.

And Carys Eleri makes a welcome return to Ffresh (back where it all began) to finish off her hugely successful Lovecraft (Not the Sex Shop in Cardiff) tour with sell-out shows at the Adelaide Fringe, Edinburgh Fringe and a tour of Wales. It's love, science and song, rolled into one.

Colourful cabaret this Christmas

Connie Orff complete with red dress

Christmas just wouldn't be Christmas without Connie Orff putting a dampener on it, so come along and relieve yourself of your materialistic burdens and ho ho ho until your belly aches.

Anti-Christmas from Cardiff Cabaret Club

And it wouldn't be Curious without some cabaret, and just like Bond...'nobody does it better' than the Cardiff Cabaret Club. Anti-Christmas is the perfect antidote to the festive season with badass Burlesque, kooky comedy and alternative peepshow.

Following a sell-out run at London's Roundhouse, the femmes of Hive City Legacy are bringing their riotous and empowering show here, with an explosive mash-up of beatboxing, aerial acrobatics, spoken word and body-popping.

And if you're after some family shows...Drudwen is a dark fairy tale that tells the twisting story of the enchantress Drudwen who discovers strange twins in the forest. Featuring circus, movement and music this is an enchanting show for the whole family.

Drudwen is a feast for the senses. with stunning aerial circus and hilarious physical comedy
Writer and poet Toby Thompson

I Wish I Was A Mountain, written and performed by former Glastonbury Poetry Slam Champion, Toby Thompson, uses rhyme, live music, and just a smattering of metaphysical philosophy to boldly re-imagine Hermann Hesse’s classic fairy tale.

While our family Christmas show, Red from the fabulously anarchic Likely Story is a hilarious take on Little Red Riding Hood. Join us on a raucous journey to a fairy tale wood where trees whisper, strange creatures lurk and wolves run wild under a moon-lit sky.
