Radio Platfform nominated for an ARIA

Our youth-led radio station Radio Platfform has been nominated for the Community Station of the Year award at this year’s ARIAS.

The ARIAS are the UK audio and radio awards presented annually by The Radio Academy to recognise, honour and reward outstanding shows and the teams behind them. Judged by over 200 senior audio and radio practitioners, drawn from all sectors of the industry, it is a huge accolade to be nominated.

Listen to what the team put together as part of their application.

Radio Platfform is the only radio station run by young people operating in Wales, teaching 11–25-year-olds the skills to record their own radio shows and podcasts through accredited training. Since its inception as a pop-up radio station at 2016’s Festival of Voice, Radio Platfform has grown from strength to strength with permanent studios here in Cardiff and at The Factory, Porth as part of our Together Stronger partnership with Valleys Kids.

"We are so excited to have been nominated and recognised at such a high level of the radio and audio industry! This is a great representation of the talent from our members, in both Cardiff and Porth, who are the ones shaping the station."

Agathe Dijoud – Cardiff Studio Co-ordinator

The ceremony takes place in London on 7 May and we have everything crossed! Pob lwc bawb!

You can listen to Radio Platfform daily at Wales Millennium Centre, online or through your smart speaker. Listen back to previous shows on Mixcloud.
