In November 2022 nine young carers from YMCA Swansea collaborated with the professional videographer Jamie Panton and the singer-songwriter Mojo JNR to produce a music video for his latest song, Monaco.
Through a set of dynamic and fast-paced video-making workshops as part of Wales Millennium Centre’s Creative Voice programme, learners worked through the fundamentals of shooting a creative music video and gained the knowledge and skills to start creating their own.
The aspiring videographers gained in-depth industry insights into every aspect of the creative process of shooting music videos, from shot composition to editing, lighting and pre-production.

The young people got hands on with high-end kit and were given the chance to put their own creative stamp on the video, working alongside Jamie and Mojo JNR to form the final product.

Our Creative Learning team at Wales Millennium Centre were thrilled to provide this opportunity to young carers from YMCA Swansea through our Creative Voice programme, and to collaborate with music industry professionals Mojo JNR and Jamie Panton, who led the course.
