Performance Platfform comprises of a series of programmes and projects aimed at developing young people’s life skills and wellbeing.
These include things such as self-belief, personal confidence, aspiration, collaboration, communication, creativity and resilience through taking part in the performing arts.
What we do
Weekly workshops rooted in developing life-skills whilst having fun take place at Wales Millennium Centre for young people aged 11-16-years-old who, by attending regular performing arts workshops, work towards their own performances.
Our groups work with a variety of creative practitioners including choreographers, script writers and producers and have an exciting opportunity to see professional productions at work.
Our Curtain Raiser events in partnership with Re:Bourne brings together world-class productions with young people who devise and rehearse their own show inspired routines with professional choreographers leading up to the professional show.
The voice element of Performance Platfform supports young people and brings inter-generational groups together through song and spoken word.
In 2017/18, four ensembles developed their own unique identity and voice. The groups were formed working with partners: Cardiff West Community High School, Oasis Cardiff, Touch Trust, and Voices from Care who performed to a huge crowd at the opening night of Festival of Voice in 2018.
