3, 2, 1....We're open!

It's great to be back, filling our theatre with people and atmosphere once again. We've got lots of exciting news to share with you - from a jam-packed autumn and winter season to how we're transforming our public spaces.

Autumn and winter 2021 season

First up, watch our latest trailer featuring the new Welsh National Opera season, our heart-warming new production, The Boy With Two Hearts, the long-awaited return of Festival of Voice, plus all the award-winning blockbuster shows you've come to expect. Get your tickets here.

KEEPING YOU SAFE

Throughout the coronavirus pandemic we've been following Welsh Government guidelines; you can read more about our coronavirus safety measures.

We're asking people to continue wearing masks when walking around inside, but these can be removed once seated for eating, drinking, and watching performances.

TRANSFORMING OUR SPACES

With the advent of e-tickets and contactless payment, our impressively long ticket desk is no more. We’re transforming the foyer area so you can eat, drink, meet, chat, work, play, debate, selfie-shoot, book tickets, enjoy, create, escape, and make memories.

It will become a space that all our community can call home and come together to enjoy. In the future, we also hope to bring you a new cabaret venue and dining destination.

WHERE’S THE TICKET OFFICE?

As you enter through our front doors, turn left and walk down the concourse towards the city. There you'll find our new ticket office, cloakroom, and staff on hand to help you with any queries.

Please note this will only be open for an hour and a half before each show, so do use our webchat facility for any general queries.

The old gift shop will be transformed into a virtual reality experience for our latest production, The Boy With Two Hearts, from 2 October.

Our theatre bars will be open for performances, and our outdoor bar and street food venue Teras will be serving great food, coffee, and drinks at selected times up until 3 October.

CHANGE FOR THE BETTER

Lockdown gave us a chance to reflect on how we operate as an organisation and implement meaningful change.

We have invited different groups into our community to help guide and inform our vision. These include the Creative Associates - eight dynamic artists who will bring different voices to the organisation and develop their own practices - and our Youth Collective - nine young people who will ensure we're an inclusive space for all young people.

Following on from our successful online Creative Voice courses, we're also investigating how we use our space in a more collaborative and creative way with the aim of empowering the next generation to find their voice. You’ll see groups of young people taking over different spaces across the building to explore how we do just that.
