new Artist Development Associate role

For the last three years we've been making increasing strides in our producing arm; working with and supporting Welsh artists, and programming, developing, creating and presenting new work that helps those artists flex their muscles.

We have strong ambitions to extend this work and to reach more artists, which is why we’re announcing a new role: artist development associate.

Year on year, we're producing more co-productions and we need to create a strategy for our artist development work to ensure we're working with a diverse pool of artists who are representative of Wales and its stories.

We're currently looking for someone who can help us find and develop artists who are underrepresented on our stages and for someone who has the ambition of becoming an artistic director.

The successful individual will spend part of their time working with us and part of their time receiving accredited training at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Arts Management.

We have a series of informal open days coming up; where you can pop in for a chat and find out more about the role and get advice about our recruitment process.

We understand these open days fall during the school holidays, so you're welcome to bring your children with you.

Please email artists@wmc.org.uk if you would like to attend any of the open days and have any access requirements:

29 July 2019 – Butetown Community Centre, Cardiff – 12pm to 4pm

30 July 2019 – Tŷ Pawb, Wrexham – 10am to 3pm

2 August 2019 – Ffwrnes, Llanelli – 10am to 3pm

*Applications close on Wednesday, 7 August, 2019.

This role has been made possible with support from Arts Council of Wales and in partnership with the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama.
