Sharp knives and hot fire

Circus performers never fake it. The danger is real, the knives are sharp and the fire is always HOT.

But on March 23 for one night only, Mary Bijou will be faking a few things, just for you.

Can George transform himself into King Kong?

Can Alise turn hula hoops into moving art?

Can Dino sell you a book on motherhood?

Can Vreni become the perfect fem?

The swords are sharp and the flesh soft, but some things still need to be faked...

Meet the performers

Mary Bijou is an immigrant driven cavalcade of talent, born from the mind of American, George Orange and Austrian, Anna Sandrueter.

These former NoFit State performers were searching for an alternative kind of entertainment reflecting their eclectic lives and Mary Bijou was formed in 2010.

George Orange is a circus performer and live artist from Chicago who mixes physical comedy with poetically skilful circus and has performed for decades across three continents and more than 30 countries.

Latvian-born, Alise Piebalga received her PhD in fine art in Cardiff before running away with the circus to create a deliciously stunning, visual feast.

Vreni May is a hilarious Swiss comedian who fuses clowning, theatre and aerial skills to create mind blowing stunts.

And performance artist Dino Rovaretti brings his own unique blend of performance art, spoken word and theatre with plenty of humour and 'real world' perspective.

*Our Bar & Kitchen opens from 6pm so grab a bite to eat or a cheeky cocktail before the show starts.
