Daytime giggles: family fun at the cabaret

This summer, cabaret isn't just for grown-ups! As we return with our strongest cabaret season yet, there’s plenty in the mix for kids too.

Kicking us off on 18 July we have The Misadventures of David and Sam. A huge smash at last year's Vault Festival, this rambunctious comedy for big kids and little adults aged 3 and over will have the whole family in stiches.

On 25 July, join us for Y Gig Gigls! - a new Welsh language stand-up show aimed at children aged 4 - 8 (but all ages are welcome). Featuring some of Wales’ funniest and silliest comedians, this is for all children who love a good laugh. Parents are welcome too, if they can behave themselves!

If you like your fairy tales fresh and full of song, The Amazing Adventures of Little Red on 8 August features a warrior grandmother and music that will make ewe wanna rock! Age guidance is 3+.

If your child is under 2, we also have something for you! Comedy Pram Jam on 12 August is an adult comedy show that you can bring your baby to, up to 18 months. We've reduced the lights and the mics, but not the swearing or the content. This is a time for blurry-eyed new parents to do something they love, in an environment where no-one minds if you feed, jingle a toy or do what you need to do to make sure baby is happy.

Also in August, we've teamed up with Cardiff Council to bring you a Summer of Smiles. Alongside ticketed shows like Mr Ruffles Magic Show and The Great Insect Games!, there'll be lots of free activities outside including dancing, workshops, concerts and circus. Read all about it here.
