Pump up the Volume
As a charity we believe all young people deserve a chance to thrive and fulfil their potential, no matter what their circumstances.
Grassroots have helped thousands of vulnerable young people aged between 16-25 years from all walks of life; providing them with a safe and fun environment to learn in, socialise and make new friends.
Some of the groups we're working with have Asperger's – a form of autism – while others are young parents who just need a helping hand.
The money raised will help 30 young people - who've had tougher lives than most - find their voice and fulfil their potential.
Our Radio Plattfform team will take the mobile workshop directly to the people who need it most, so that everyone has the opportunity to be involved and benefit.
How do our radio workshops help?
Our six-week course offers both practical, hands-on skills to help with employment prospects e.g learning to present, edit and ultimately produce their own radio show.
"It's more than just a six-week workshop learning about presenting and producing a radio show. It's also about teaching young people life skills, boosting their confidence and giving them the tools they need, to fulfil their potential."Bethan Elfyn, BBC Wales Cymru Radio Presenter
But there's a lot more to it than that.
They'll also learn important life skills too that will boost their confidence and provide them with a much-needed platform to express themselves.
