Halfway through his two year Creative Associate role, we caught up with musician, producer, chef and youth arts worker, Tumi Williams...
Aside from solo work as Cardiff’s premier emcee Skunkadelic, Tumi also fronts nine-piece monster funk collective Afro Cluster who supported Ibibio Sound Machine at our Festival of Voice in 2018.
And when he's not busy being a dad or running his Nigerian food business, Jollof House Party, he's busy mentoring and sharing his knowledge and skills with the next generation.

Tumi's had a busy first year, producing Up and Cymru - a celebration of Black music in our Weston Studio for Festival of Voice in 2021.
The event featured 14 different artists from the world of hip hop, soul, grime and more, with both emerging and established artists.
And he was also on hand to mentor new acts and introduce people from the local community to stage management and running music events.
"It's a two-way relationship. Artists get to integrate themselves into the blueprint of this building and push it forward and WMC get to work with various artists from different walks of life and ethnicities."

Following a successful pilot project in Pen Y Graig with Valleys Kids, Tumi helped develop a new Creative Voice workshop in hip hop for us.
Over six-weeks young people in the Valleys learned about song writing, lyrics and producing, and recorded their very own music track.
