We are committed to creating a welcoming, vibrant and respectful experience for everyone who visits and works with us. We expect all interactions to be conducted with mutual respect and courtesy.
We will not tolerate any behaviour that has a negative impact on the safety, comfort and well-being of all those who work or visit Wales Millennium Centre or that undermine our commitment to access and inclusion.
We will not tolerate:
- Discrimination or harassment towards anyone who works or visits here including verbal, non-verbal, or physical behaviour that creates an intimidating, hostile, or offensive environment
- Any form of physical, intimidation, aggression or violence, including but not limited to hitting, pushing spitting, throwing objects or making threatening physical movements
- Insensitive, offensive, crude comments, shouting, use of threatening or intimidating language. Do not assume that if you don’t find something offensive that someone else won’t.
- Behaviour that disrupts the normal operations of WMC or the duties of our team members. This includes but is not limited to, refusing to follow instructions, and causing disturbances in common areas and displaying disruptive behaviours whilst under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs.
- Damage (including vandalism) of spaces, property, furniture or equipment or the personal property of staff members or other visitors.
If you witness any of the above, you should report any incidents to a member of staff who will be able to escalate this to a manager.
We will ask you to support the completion of an incident report to document the behaviour and actions taken. You can make a report in person, via phone, or email.
If we feel that any behaviour has compromised our commitment to a safe, welcoming and respectful environment for all we will take the following action:
1. Warning:
A verbal or written warning will be issued to the individual displaying unacceptable behaviour.
2. Removal from Premises or Refusal of Entry:
Individuals who engage in unacceptable behaviour may be asked to leave the premises immediately or refused entry without initial warning this will depend on the nature of unwanted behaviour.
Security or law enforcement may be contacted to assist in this process if necessary.
3. Repeated inappropriate behaviour:
Repeated or significant incidents of unacceptable behaviour may result in a temporary or permanent ban from the building. Individuals who are banned will be notified in writing via the named contact or ticket booker.
4. Legal Action:
In cases involving threats, physical aggression, harassment, or property damage, legal action may be pursued. This includes contacting law enforcement and pressing charges if appropriate.
