25 August 2021

Donald Gordon Theatre

Based in South Wales, GrooveLine are a 6 piece disco/soul band named after a 1978 song by Heatwave.

They will whisk you straight back to that golden era of late 70’s music, performing classic dance hits from acts such as Earth Wind & Fire, Kool and the Gang, Detroit Emeralds, Rose Royce, Stevie Wonder, the O’Jays and The Trammps.

The band was formed in 2017 by original Madassa front man Dave Bowen (Freeway, Stratus Fear), and also features the silky smooth vocals of 'Mr. Motown' himself Lee St. Lawrence.

They are backed by some very recognisable local musicians - on drums Alex Kocsis (Rise of the City King, Breeze), on bass Brian 'BK' Konten (Time Out, Tangent), on keyboards Rob 'Silver Fox' Weekley (Freeway, Blues Central), and on guitar Ceri 'Cetch' Binding (The Bonnetts, The Blind Venetians).

Doors: 8pm
Performance starts 8.30pm

Age restriction: 16+

Running Time: Approximately 2 hours (including 1 interval)

Seat allocation on arrival.
