To coincide with NUTCRACKER (the alternative cabaret) showing in the Weston Studio 3-31 December, we’re hosting Zine Making workshops focused on queer and trans identity and expression in Wales.
During this workshop you will create your very own zine under the expert instruction of zine-artist Efa Supertramp. Together we’ll explore what it means to be a queer, trans or non-binary person in Wales through conversation, craft and creativity.
No need to prepare anything or have any previous experience, simply come prepared to create! All materials will be provided.
This free workshop is open to everyone, with a specific focus on queer, trans and non-binary individuals, including culturally bound gender representations e.g. Two-spirit.
Efa Supertramp has been making DIY zines for over a decade, on a range of subjects from underground music to travel, adventures and art – she has a collection of hundreds of zines and is passionate about self-publishing and independent press.
Daughters of Carmilla is a queer anarchist, subcultural zine distributor and DIY gig-maker from South Wales, who can regularly be seen tabling at DIY punk gigs running a take-what-you-want, pay-what-you-want system.
Workshop times: 10am – 1pm
Age: 16+
Free, but ticketed.
