Spoken Word:
Join poet, writer and director Tia-zakura Camilleri for this six week course that will dive into art of storytelling, spoken word and self-expression. Explored through the theme of 'Journeys', whether you're passionate about social issues, performance experiences or just want to get your creative ideas out there, this is the space for you. You'll learn techniques to unlock your poetic flow, craft your own stories and platform your voice at an exclusive scratch performance. This is also your chance to learn more about the spoken word scene across Cardiff, and how to turn your passion into a career.
About the Artist:
Tia-zakura Camilleri is an interdisciplinary creative based in Cardiff, blending poetry, theatre-making, and journalism as powerful tools for activism. Best known for her rhythmic approach to “flowetry,” Tia can be seen performing her spoken-word pieces on stages across the UK. Driven by a deep passion for community, she is dedicated to making poetry more accessible to young, marginalised groups by delivering interactive workshops that inspire and empower the next generation of storytellers.
Photography:
Join us for this six week course that will level up your photography skills and explore the world through your lens. This course will give you hands-on experience through skills-building workshops, give you tips and tricks to capture the perfect shot and help you learn how to edit like a pro. Using the poems created by our spoken word artists and with the support of photographer Joe Andrews, you will work to a creative brief of exploring 'Journeys' to test and push your limits. You will then showcase your work in an exclusive exhibition and showcase.
