Our comprehensive course, Theatre Makers: Behind the Scenes, is designed to unveil the magic that happens backstage. Whether you’re an aspiring theatre professional or a curious enthusiast, this course will provide you with the knowledge and skills to understand and contribute to the captivating world of theatre production, with a focus specifically on sound and lighting.
Course Overview
In this immersive course, you will:
- Gain a solid foundation in the principles of sound and lighting, essential for creating the right mood and atmosphere for any production.
- Engage in practical workshops that cover everything from setting up equipment to executing a live performance.
- Learn how to operate industry-standard sound and lighting equipment, including consoles, microphones, lighting fixtures and more.
- Explore the artistic side of sound and lighting design, understanding how to enhance storytelling through technical elements.
- Develop critical thinking and troubleshooting skills to handle the dynamic challenges that arise during a live performance.

When is it?
The course runs every Monday, 6pm – 8pm for five weeks from 20 January to 17 February.
