Wise Woman

31 May 2025

Cabaret

Blending ancient folk traditions with a bold contemporary flair, Wise Woman arrives with a heady collision of lush vocal harmonies, cinematic strings and 90s girl power.

The group’s “startling and shimmering” (Folk Wales) blend of folk, jazz, and musical theatre sounds has enchanted audiences far and wide, from Radio 3 to Celtic Connections to Secret Garden Party.

Spinning tales on diverse subjects such as fenland witches, environmental activists and drag artists, powerful lyrics and captivating storytelling transports audiences on a unique and transformative musical journey.

This tour celebrates their upcoming EP “Hold The Wonder,” (March 2025), which centres the band’s mesmerising acappella sounds with original songs of protest, personal discovery and perhaps a dash of shapeshifting.

Oasis One World Choir (soon to be known as WOW Choir) is a community arts project aiming to welcome and nurture people who have been displaced from their home countries, celebrating what they have to bring and creating platforms on which to share our multilingual, choir created songs with a wider public.

Our performance as part of Wise Woman’s gig at Wales Millennium Centre sees us being represented by the women of the choir. Our latest women’s group event was for International Women’s Day at Cardiff University Concert Hall.

We are delighted to have been invited to this event by Wise Woman, Charlotte, who some of our women have been training alongside to become ‘Singing Mama’s’.
