The Blind Boys of Alabama bring a night of gospel and soul to Llais 2026 alongside London African Gospel Choir who will be performing Paul Simon’s Graceland.
The Blind Boys of Alabama are living legends of gospel music, bringing over 70 years of soul, passion, and powerful storytelling to stages around the world. Honoured with Lifetime Achievement Awards from both the National Endowment for the Arts and the GRAMMYs, inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame, and winners of six GRAMMY® Awards, their extraordinary journey is a testament to resilience, artistry, and enduring spirit.
From their early days performing for pocket change in the Jim Crow South to soundtracking the Civil Rights Movement and performing for three U.S. presidents, their music carries a rich history of perseverance and hope. Their latest album, Echoes of the South, continues this legacy—earning a GRAMMY® Award and multiple nominations—offering a moving reflection on struggle, strength, and triumph.
Their story now extends beyond the stage with the release of Spirit of the South, an intimate and inspiring look into the lives, voices, and untold stories behind one of gospel’s most influential groups.
Joining them are the London African Gospel Choir, back with their critically acclaimed, soul-stirring reimagining of Paul Simon’s legendary album Graceland — marking 40 years of this timeless classic.
Performed with passion, soul, and electrifying rhythm, this concert brings together soaring voices, vibrant harmonies, and an irresistible celebration of African musical heritage.
An unforgettable night of joyful spirit and cultural fusion, the London African Gospel Choir breathes new life into classics like “You Can Call Me Al” and “Diamonds on the Soles of Her Shoes.” Whether you’re a longtime fan of the original album or discovering its magic for the first time, this is a live experience that connects generations and transcends borders.
