Fresh from a smashing success at The Edinburgh Fringe, Welsh optimist Steffan Alun takes his critically acclaimed debut show on tour!
Steffan Alun: Stand Up is a rich, raucous blend of politics, identity and unapologetic queerness, anchored by a proudly Welsh perspective and a neurodivergent lens. Skipping deftly between surreal detours and precise social critique, Alun dissects nationalism, bisexuality, media echo chambers and the language we use to understand the world—all with a bright, generous wit.
“A fantastic insight into the human experience. Will lift the spirits of anyone in attendance”
His ADHD shapes both structure and delivery, lending the show a darting energy that’s as personal as it is political. Underneath the self-deprecating storytelling and playful irreverence lies a clear-eyed warning about complacency, and a passionate call to joy, defiance and community in the face of rising intolerance.
Steffan Alun is a Welsh standup comedian who regularly appears on BBC Wales, S4C and Radio Cymru. Steffan performs at top comedy clubs and has performed solo shows at theatres all over the UK including the prestigious Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff, as well as providing tour support for Elis James. Steffan has been a regular face at Machynlleth Comedy Festival since 2013 and has been performing 40 minutes of free comedy at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe every (non-pandemic) year since 2015.
As well as his many appearances on Welsh TV and radio including Stand Up Sesh on BBC One Wales, Steffan hosted Rats in Boilersuits: The Torchwood Podcast and occasionally sits in as guest host on Overinvested podcast. Steffan also appears as a supporting artist in the 50th anniversary special of Doctor Who.
