Welcome to Wales Millennium Centre's first VR Cinema (daytime programme) - an exciting opportunity for audiences to experience 3 extraordinary virtual reality works back to back.
The Art of Change
The Art of Change is a deeply personal audio-visual journey that traverses time and space. Using a “feedback loop” of recorded voice memos addressed to past and future selves, it maps pivotal moments on a multi-sensory life map.
The project interweaves tape-recorded messages from various life stages within the music, narrating a woman’s story as she communicates with herself across time. The journey unfolds through past, present, and future, depicting archetypal experiences familiar to many: the majestic solitude of a large tree in the wilderness, the challenge of an insurmountable mountain peak, the mundanity of an ordinary office building, and the yearning to escape, along with more abstract, imaginary places.
The Art of Change reflects on life’s steps and their echo across time and space. Entirely painted and animated in VR using Quill, it offers a pioneering musical journey. Through virtual space, seamless transitions, and increasingly complex environments, this immersive project redefines how we appreciate music.

Bodies of Water
The VR film BODIES OF WATER invites you to hold your breath and let yourself be transported and transformed by water in the company of curious individuals. As night falls, they invade a public swimming pool. These bodies of water, immersed in the watery mass, transgress the limits of their natural environment and metamorphose. They then engage in a contemporary dance that reveals them differently. The aquatic environment makes them supple and light, but also vulnerable and combative. This poetic mass, encompassing and suffocating, unites, separates and constitutes them. BODIES OF WATER explores the transformation of human bodies as they interact with water - a fluid and adaptable medium that simultaneously presents resistance. It takes you underwater for an immersive experience that unfolds an uncommon and otherwise inaccessible contemporary dance.

Ôl | Haunts
It’s 2006. In a small town in North Wales, 16-year-old Morgan stands on the edge of his future, guiding us through haunts, hangouts and nights that linger long after the last bus leaves.
The year is 2006, Tony Blair is Prime Minister, Twitter has just been launched, and young people are quickly getting used to a world where social media and technology are beginning to take hold. 16-year-old Morgan, voiced by Callum Scott Howells (It’s a Sin) and Steffan Donnelly (Theatr Cymru), is searching to understand where he belongs, his journey set against the backdrop of a community in Llanberis - a small town at the foot of Snowdon in Wales.
Directed by Tomos Chetwode-Barton and Lucy Hammond (Monoliths, Traitor) with immersive concept development by Dreaming Methods, we are transported to a time when analog and digital worlds collide, sharing moments from Morgan’s life as he travels through this poetic rite-of-passage odyssey.
