This richly coloured concert is conducted by Principal Guest Conductor Jaime Martín and brings together music of atmosphere, virtuosity and symphonic power.
Grace Williams’ Sea Sketches opens the evening, capturing the character of the Welsh coastline in music of freshness, colour and flowing movement.
The focus then turns to harpist Mared Pugh‑Evans, soloist in Henriette Renié’s Harp Concerto, a deeply Romantic work shaped by long, sweeping melodies and brilliant, virtuosic passages for the harp.
After the interval, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 charts a dramatic journey from struggle to hard‑won triumph, bringing the programme to an impassioned close.
