From car parking to accessible toilets, we want your time with us to be as relaxed as possible.

Book a blue badge parking space

There are 17 pre-bookable, undercover spaces available for disabled visitors, accessible from Pierhead Street at the side of the building.

There are three time slots available to book; 8am -12 noon; 12.30pm - 5pm and 5.30pm till closing time.

Due to heavy demand, a charge of £5 per space is made when there are performances in the Donald Gordon TheatreWeston Studio and BBC Hoddinott Hall.

You must pre-book a space when ordering your tickets. You must have your blue badge number to book a space and enter the site.

*The disabled parking facility is not suitable for mini buses. There are however 12 free, on-street blue badge parking spaces along Bute Place which can accommodate larger vehicles.

A further 92 designated disabled car parking spaces, six per level, are located in Q-Park Cardiff Bay on Pierhead Street.

Wheelchair spaces

Donald Gordon Theatre

There are up to 22 spaces for wheelchair users in the main auditorium in the front and raised stalls, circle and upper circle.

When booking a wheelchair space please let the ticket office know of any particular requirements, including companions. Gradients into the theatre are 1:20.

There are unisex accessible toilets located on both sides of the auditorium and on each Level to 5, which are equipped with an alarmed pull cord in case of an emergency.

Weston Studio

The entrance to the studio is on the flat with one accessible unisex toilet nearby.

There is only one public entrance to the Weston Studio, located on Level 1 South (to the right of the ticket desk) and can be reached by taking the staircase or lift to Level 1.

Seating in the Weston Studio is unreserved and there is space for up to four wheelchair users each with two companions on the flat area in front of the tiered seating.

All public toilets and changing facilities have tactile pictograms with braille (English and Welsh) indicating key information. There are baby changing facilities in the Glanfa toilets located off the south concourse.

Accessible toilets

Ground floor

This has both left and right transfer accessible unisex toilets.

There is also a Changing Places toilet located on the ground floor with a height adjustable adult-sized changing bench and a tracking hoist system.

There is adequate space in the changing area for the person who needs it and up to two carers, a centrally placed toilet with room either side.

Borrow a wheelchair

We have several wheelchairs available for use upon request. You can request them via the ticket office by emailing or ask a member of staff upon arrival, although we can not guarantee we will have one available.

Whether you have a hearing aid or not, we have over-ear ‘double’ headphones or inner-ear ‘single’ headphones available. All headsets can be collected from the cloakroom.

Medical assistance

We have many first-aid trained members of staff so if you require assistance at any time please ask a member of staff who will be able to call for the relevant person.

Assistance dogs

If you are attending a performance, your dog can be taken into the theatre with you. You can book into the accessible seating at the rear of the stalls or circle if you would like more room for your dog.

Alternatively, we are happy to look after your dog while you attend a performance. Please request either of these when booking tickets.
