BBC National Orchestra of Wales

BBC National Orchestra of Wales is one of the leading orchestral ensembles in the UK. Critically acclaimed for the quality of its performances, the Orchestra is committed to contemporary music and regularly commissions new works. BBC National Orchestra of Wales is frequently broadcast on BBC radio and television, with Education and Community Outreach work integral to the Orchestra’s musical life.

In January 2009 BBC National Orchestra of Wales, along with the BBC National Chorus of Wales, moved into their new state-of-the-art recording and rehearsal space, BBC Hoddinott Hall at Wales Millennium Centre.  This space is part of the phase 2 development of the Centre and seats up to 349 people.

Concert-goers can hear a wide array of music at BBC Hoddinott Hall. As well as an outstanding ability to refresh core repertoire, the Orchestra is proud of its adventurous programming and continuously demonstrates artistic excellence in new or rarely performed works. Performances at BBC Hoddinott Hall include Afternoon Concerts on BBC Radio 3 and exciting evening events.
