THE STAGE

For The Making of a Monster, our Weston Studio was transformed into a raw and eclectic space where Connor Allen, the Children’s Laureate Wales, took audiences back to his childhood as a mixed-race kid in danger of spiralling out of control and the one moment that changed his life.

Incorporating live music, projection, poetry and movement, the show shared the story of a boy from Newport with an absent Black father, ducking the police, working out what it means to be a man.
