Donald Gordon Theatre

By Anwen Carlisle & Dyfan Jones

In this original production we follow the trials and tribulations of two individuals who move to Cardiff docks at the beginning of the last century - one of them to work on the ships, and the other as a nurse in Hamadryad Hospital. The performance refers to the widespread use of the Welsh language in the docks and will portray a number of key events in Tiger Bay when the exporting of coal was at its peak.

The inspiration behind the show is the history of the Welsh language in the city and in Tiger Bay. This performance is an unique opportunity to inspire and educate the young people of Cardiff and the Vale about the Welsh language, the city and Tiger Bay through a series of interesting tales.
