Dewch i mewn

Since opening our doors in 2004 we’ve welcomed over 16.5 million visitors and we're the national home for the performing arts in Wales.

What we do

  • We stage world-class productions from around the globe, ensuring our offering is accessible and inclusive to all.
  • We create made-in-Wales productions and events which showcase Welsh talent, our culture and heritage to the rest of the world.
  • Act as a cultural hub for Wales where people from all backgrounds can enjoy and participate in the arts.

Become a volunteer

As a community focused charity, we're hoping to encourage people from all walks of life and of all ages to get more involved with the arts and take part in our fantastic volunteering scheme.

Ian and Jane are some of older volunteers while Morgan at 17 is one of our youngest. Find out how volunteering here has helped them.

The Centre is an inspiring, motivating and exceptionally rewarding place to work at and there’s never a dull moment.

By volunteering here you'll get to see plenty of shows, meet new people, learn new skills and get to work in an exciting and fun environment.

"It’s definitely helped towards getting my drama A-Levels but it's also opened up a new world of art to me that I'd not normally have chosen to see."

Volunteer usher

Applications for volunteer ushers are currently closed. Keep an eye on our social media channels to find out when we're recruiting for ushers again.

In the meantime we're still looking for membership and engagement volunteers.

Our volunteer ushers to help enhance our front-of-house offering and world-class customer service.

As part of our customer experience team you’ll be responsible for giving the public a warm Welsh welcome to the building and making sure that everyone can enjoy themselves in a safe and relaxed environment.

"I've been a patron here right from the beginning, and volunteering has helped me to come back to the arts. I've loved the friendships made and sense of camaraderie I've felt since becoming a volunteer."

Membership and Engagement Volunteers

Membership and Engagement Volunteers help to both promote our membership scheme and encourage donations to support our charitable work.

They actively engage with customers, informing them of the benefits of becoming a member, and talk about our Creative Learning projects to inspire donations.

All new volunteers receive an induction and full training, together with a uniform and badge. Volunteers also get to experience a variety of shows as part of our ever-increasing artistic programme.

We regularly recruit for new events that require staffing such as the Festival of Voice and Performances for the Curious.

If you’d like to join the team as a volunteer then it's worth following us on social media for volunteer roles and updates.

Community Engagement Producers

Our community and engagement producers will be our community ambassadors, representing us and connecting with communities across Wales.

Using your community links you'll reach out to new audiences for shows across all of our venues including things like Festival of Voice.

You'll have access to ticket offers in order to reach out to new audiences and encourage those who wouldn’t normally be able to come to be part of our audience and community.
