Delve into the enchanting world of Angeline Morrison, the award-winning folk artist; a soulful blend of storytelling, nostalgic melodies and reimagined traditional songs, capturing the essence of folklore and the supernatural.
Angeline Morrison's 2022 album The Sorrow Songs: Folk Songs of Black British Experience was voted No 1 Folk Album of the year in The Guardian. She is a singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter who explores traditional song with a deep love, respect and curiosity.
Sounds like solitude, memory, nostalgia, a rainy walk amongst trees. Angeline mostly makes music in the genres of wyrd folk and psych folk, infused with elements of soul music, literature, ‘60s beat pop sounds, folklore, myth and the supernatural.
Angeline’s original compositions focus on storytelling and the small things that often go un-noticed. She has a handmade sonic sound that re-stiches traditional songs and a belief in the importance of tenderness.
