Queertet brings together a collection of London’s finest LGBTQI+ musicians to celebrate everything queer about the world of jazz and musical theatre!
Headed by award winning young saxophonist Tom Smith, Queertet tells the story of the songs of celebrated LGBTQI+ musicians and composers throughout history such as Stephen Sondheim, Ma Rainey, Cole Porter and Billy Strayhorn.
Queertet performed extensively during Pride 2018, touring London and selling out two shows at Ronnie Scott’s with Ian Shaw, Julian Clary and Sharon D. Clarke. They have also performed at venues such as Pizza Express Soho, the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall, and at Clapham Omnibus as part of their LGBTQI+ Festival 96.
“Whether playing the standards songbook or their accomplished originals, the Queertet bring discerning playing, individuality and swinging group dynamics, with great charm and likeableness”
