SOUTH PACIFIC

We invite you to join us on the beaches of the South Pacific for this powerful and unforgettable love story. Starring Julian Ovenden as Emile de Becque and Gina Beck as Ensign Nellie Forbush accompanied by a sensational cast of over thirty including Rob Houchen, Joanna Ampil and Sera Maehara. Boasting one of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s most iconic scores, South Pacific features songs such as Some Enchanted Evening, I’m Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair and Bali Ha’i.

All your prayers have been answered as this divine production graces the Donald Gordon Theatre telling the tale of everyone’s favourite nun on the run! Starring TV and West End legend Lesley Joseph and Lizzie Bea and featuring original music by Tony® and 8-time Oscar® winner Alan Menken (Disney’s Aladdin, Enchanted) with songs inspired by Motown, soul and disco, this heavenly musical is joyous and uplifting in equal measure.

THE MAKING OF A MONSTER

The Making of a Monster is Connor Allen's autobiographical story. The Children's Laureate Wales explores how he felt growing up mixed race in Newport in the 2000s – too black for his white friends, but too white for his black friends – and struggling to find his place in the world. Created from grime culture and inspired by artists including Dizzee Rascal, Wiley, Skepta and Kano, The Making of a Monster is a new grime-theatre mash-up.

Youth groups and community organisations can learn more about this original Wales Millennium Centre production with our annual Dros Nos event.
