Things to do with the family this Christmas

There’s plenty for everyone to see and do here over the festive period – from blockbuster musicals to free family craft experiences and an enchanted forest to explore...

Enchanted forest

If you’re passing by, pop in and see our enchanted forest, just in time for Beauty and the Beast. The woods, complete with snow and twinkly lights, can be found near the Double Zero café.

Ancestree

A CROCHET TREE LIT IN GREEN

It's back for one last time! We’ll be featuring the incredible four-storey crochet tree installation 'Ancestree' - embellished with flowers, animals and poetry - which was our centrepiece during our Your Voice exhibition.

On 3 January we're running free a creative writing workshop around the tree, focusing on people's stories, trees and their journey together through time. So come along and have fun around words with plenty of activities and live performances.

Family craft workshops: Little folk

This year's theme is all about pixies, fairies, sprites and global folk tales. We'll be running a free Fairy Making Workshop on 20 December in the Glanfa from 11am - 3pm.

We’re also offering free digital packs to download and do at home with the kids, or collect in person from our Information Point.

Once you're done, pop back and leave your finished artwork in a box by the Information Point and we’ll hang it from our magical ‘fairy tree’ in the enchanted forest.

Enchanted Storytelling

On 20 December join us for free, enchanted storytelling in the Glanfa from 11am - 3pm, guaranteed to get everyone in the mood for Christmas!
