Game Development for Beginners

Get creative for free

8 + 15 July 2023

Wales Millennium Centre

Unleash your creativity and bring your video game ideas to life in this free course with the Welsh Games Academy!

Even if you've never made a video game before, don't worry! The Welsh Games Academy will teach you everything you need to know to get started. You'll learn how to turn your ideas into fully functioning games that you can play and share with others.

In session 1 you will develop a basic platform game using Flowlab, a browser-based visual editor.

In session 2 you will create a simple arcade game using GameMaker Studio, an industry standard tool used to create the likes of Undertale, Forager and Nuclear Throne.

This course will give you a solid foundation in game development so you can have fun making your own games.

WHO IS IT FOR?

This course is available to anyone aged 14–18.

WHEN IS IT?
